Crafting Connections: Decoupage Easter Egg Event with Szandra

The Women’s Social Circle hosted a delightful decoupage Easter egg crafting event, led by the talented Szandra. The group came together to explore the fun art of decoupage. The combination of creativity and community spirit made for a lovely evening where participants embraced their artistic sides.

What is Decoupage?

Decoupage is an art form that involves decorating surfaces with paper cut-outs and sealing them with protective layers of glue or varnish. This technique allows for creativity to flourish and provides a calming outlet for self-expression. With Easter approaching, our timing could not have been better to create festive decorations. Szandra’s clear guidance helped everyone, from beginners to seasoned crafters, to create something personal and beautiful to take home.

The Experience

The event kicked off with a warm welcome from Szandra, who introduced the basics of decoupage. She displayed essential supplies, including papers, scissors, adhesive, paintbrushes and ribbon. Participants chose their favourite designs and got to work on their eggs. Once the Easter eggs were nearly complete, Szandra encouraged everyone to apply a final layer of sealer to protect their artwork. The end result was a vibrant collection of decoupaged eggs, each one unique and filled with the participant's creativity. Crafting provided each woman with a moment to focus on her project and connect with others.
